Event Spotlight:
Nebraska Picked as Fourth Regional Site for 2013 Division I Championship

The University of Nebraska has been selected to host a regional site for the 2013 championship, announced by the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee on Monday. Nebraska joins previously selected Southern California, Kentucky and Illinois.

The Huskers recently hosted a regional in 2012 at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha and also hosted the national championship in 2006 and 2008 in Omaha. The 2013 regional competition will be played in the newly renovated Devaney Center in Lincoln, Neb.

“Nebraska and the city of Lincoln create a wonderful experience for our student-athletes and fans,” said Diane Turnham, NCAA Women’s Volleyball Committee chair and associate athletic director/SWA at Middle Tennessee State. “Volleyball fans are drawn to this area and the committee has always felt Nebraska has an electric atmosphere with capacity crowds, which makes for a great volleyball environment.”
