Event Spotlight:
Free Public Lecture on Football: Its Physics and Future

Held in the West memorial Stadium Club 

UNL Professor of Physics Timothy Gay will headline the Chancellor’s Distinguished Lecture Series with a program titled “Football: Its Physics and Future.”

Professor Gay became a familiar face to Husker fans during his “Football Physics” lessons on the HuskerVision screens during football games in Memorial Stadium from 1999 to 2000. This free public lecture will explore the physics behind large forces on the field. Gay also will address the history of American football, the sport’s current climate, and UNL and national research efforts to understand and mitigate injuries.

To celebrate the topic the lecture will be held in Memorial Stadium’s West Stadium Club on April 5, 2013 beginning at 11:45 a.m.
