Was Nation’s No. 1 Highlight the Best TD Ever?

Randy York’s N-Sider - When Andy Hoffman and 7-year-old son Jack woke up Sunday morning, they didn’t pinch each other before that first bite of toast, and they didn’t ask each other about a dream they both lived but still can’t quite grasp. A lawyer in Atkinson, Neb., Andy calls Saturday’s experience a “surreal ripple effect” of an audacious idea that emerged from circular logic, yet somehow soared to the top of the nation’s sports conscience at a time you’d least expect.

Event Spotlight:
World’s Largest Softball Tailgate Set

April 27, 2013   |   10 a.m.
Bowlin Stadium
Free admission to tailgate AND softball game

What started in 2012 as a festival celebrating Nebraska Softball has grown into an annual event. Dedicated to continuing one of the best atmospheres in all of collegiate softball, the World’s Largest Softball Tailgate broke the record with a season high 1,752 fans. This year, our goal is to bring over 2,000 of the nation’s loudest and rowdiest fans to Bowlin Stadium to continue the tradition of dominance both on and off the diamond.

The second annual World’s Largest Softball Tailgate will be filled with fun for just about everybody. The Nebraska Softball team will provide hot dogs, chips, and Pepsi products absolutely FREE while supplies last. Inflatable fun, balloon artists and face painters will be on hand for kids of all ages right up to the game against the reigning 2012 Big Ten Champion Michigan Wolverines.

Fans are encouraged to show up early, stake out their spot, throw up their tents and fire up the grills. We hope you’ll be a part of history again this year as we attempt to break the record once again.
