Nebraska is one of the nation’s elite softball programs. Entering the program’s 38th year in 2013, Husker softball has accumulated an impressive list of accomplishments. Nebraska has made seven trips to the Women’s College World Series, while appearing in 21 NCAA Tournaments and winning 55 postseason games. All of of those totals rank in the top 10 in NCAA history, while Nebraska also ranks in the top 10 with more than 1,000 all-time victories.
Nebraska has also enjoyed individual success producing 21 All-Americans, including Taylor Edwards in 2011. The Huskers’ commitment to excellence continues in the classroom, where NU has produced 29 Academic All-Americans, including Ashley Hagemann and Nikki Haget in 2011. That total is six more than any other softball program, while the total ranks second nationally among all female sports, trailing only Nebraska’s volleyball team.
